HPC Programming Framework Research Team

Supporting Development of High Performance Applications for the K computer

On the K computer, more than 80,000 compute nodes access the global file system to load large-scale input data and to store processed output data. Such a large-scale system makes application development much more challenging for users. Our goal is to simplify development of applications that can effectively exploit the performance potential of the K computer. In particular, our MapReduce-based system software can automatically manage computation tasks, making it much easier to develop efficient applications in various fields of science such as protein sequence analysis.
